Deforestation is one of the leading causes of global warming in this day and age. Every year, millions of square kms of forest are cleared. Forests are very important to our earth as they are literally the lungs of the planet, taking in carbon dioxide and releasing beautiful oxygen for us to breathe. However, there are people in this earth who seem to prioritise money amongst other things above breathing and our forest cover continues to decline.
Why must we be so greedy? Why is it that so many studies exist and yet progress is still so slow? Why can this website still be written, after years of activism, it still seems we are fighting a losing war. These questions shall be explored and the surface causes and effects above them discovered as well in two case studies of Brazil and Cambodia.
